Dear Seniors, I worked with a Pvt Ltd. company for one and a half years. The company deducted PF and deposited it in its Trust as the company had not opened any EPF account with the EPF authority. I do not have an EPF number. I left the company over 15 years ago. The company has not refunded any PF deducted from my salary.

Please advise.

Dear Mr. Rajesh, it is kind of you to have remembered your PF after the elapse of 15 years. A very good job indeed, keep it up. Since you said your company is running a trust, it is easy to get your PF settled without any hitch. Just meet your PF Trust Secretary, obtain a final claim settlement form, fill it up, and submit. Are you still working? If yes, get it transferred to your present PF account. How about your PF pension account? Why don't you visit your former employer and find out what you should do?

It is very regrettable that people don't bother to claim their PF amounts. Thus, hundreds of crores of hard-earned money are lying unclaimed with the PFO. Now, the PFO has also decided not to credit further accruals of interest after three years to these dormant accounts. It's VERY SAD.
