I have been working for 9 years in a private limited firm without an appointment letter. I submitted my resignation letter 15 days ago. If there are any potential issues with the employer according to labor laws, please provide guidance.
Thank you.

What is the notice period you have given? From the point of view of labor laws, there are no restrictions. Moreover, if you haven't received an appointment letter, you can challenge the employer if they insist on any issues. If they ask you, you can say that you have not been issued an appointment letter, so how would you know the notice period?

They can reduce your salary apart from the required notice period, which will be mentioned in the standing order of the company. You had given a 15-day notice period, and the balance days (notice days apart from the 15 days) will be deducted from the settlement.

Thank you, Jeevarathnam, for your valuable information. Now I am waiting to see what they can do. The employer is forcefully asking for a notice period of 2 months in advance. I cannot give a notice before 2 months. That's my problem. They are not understanding. Thank you, my friend.
