Hi all, I have a university project I am working on. I need to arrange a training program for 450 employees of the same department working in two shifts. I need help with the number of employees per group, the duration of the meeting, and the activities.

What's your location, and are you really looking for a consultant or advice on how to create this training program? If the latter, you should probably also tell us about the theme and cause for this training program.

Anand

Hello, everyone, and thanks for your prompt replies. I just need some advice. The project is a presentation addressed to the general manager of a steel company. I have to explain how we (HR department) will schedule a training program for 450 employees.

Training Program Structure

How many groups do we divide them into in order to have an efficient training day? What is a good group size to conduct a training day? How many hours should the training day be? What activities should I arrange for the day? How can we keep them interested?

The training day should focus on discussing a new set of "values and rules that the senior management has decided to impose on the company."

I will take this opportunity to appeal to bloggers to give complete information about their needs when posting for help. For example, what's this university project that you are undertaking? Is this a hypothetical project? If not, what does the GM want to cover in his presentation? What's the objective of the presentation? Is it to just inform without any interaction from the audience, or is it to generate ideas? By not giving enough information, some consultants have mistakenly tried to sell themselves, assuming that you need their services.

Have a nice day.

Thank you, Simhan. I'll try to explain a bit more in depth. The company in our academic case study is trying to change direction due to past difficulties. The senior management designed a strategy and some new rules and values to follow in order to be successful in the future.

I have to prepare a training program for a department of the company with 450 people. In the presentation directed to the GM, I have to show how I intend to schedule this training program over 2 weeks. I need to specify the number of days, the ideal size of each group to capture employees' attention, and the activities that should be included in the training day. Since the company in my case study has a large HRM department, should someone from that department make the presentations?

In brief, I would like to know how to keep employees interested during the day, what is a good size for a successful training day (note there are 450 employees, and we aim to complete it within a period of maximum 2/3 weeks), and how we should divide the training days (activities, breaks, questions and answer sessions, etc.).

I hope this time I was a bit clearer and more satisfying with my request.
