Dear all,
First of all, thank you everyone for posting such helpful threads and articles. I really don't understand how I can search for candidates on job portals. I've been through the net, but in vain. Please suggest a way.

Searching for Candidates on Job Portals
It is the same as how we search for jobs on portals. It depends on the category you are searching in. For example, if you need an MBA fresher:
1. You can choose by location.
2. As you decide (because you will have a number of profiles).
On the other hand, if you need a programmer, you will need to specify the required qualifications. This way, the number of profiles will be fewer.

Firstly, are you new to the job or are you new to the portal? If you are new to your job and don't know how to search, then you should utilize the user help tab provided in the portal.
If you are using a job portal for the first time in your office, there will be someone who will come and give a demo on how to operate job posting, managing, searching, refining, screening, etc.
Additionally, the account managers of the portal are available to assist anyone in operating the portal at any time, even if the portal has been in service to a particular organization for a long time.
Good luck!

Hi, it's very simple! For a basic search, log in to any portal like naukri.com. Go to the Employer's Zone, and log in using your user ID and password. You will find various options. Go to Residex, search resumes, fill in the desired inputs/specifications, and search.
I hope you will understand everything by looking at the page. For a more customized search, you might have to ask for a demo from the portal representative. I'm sure they will not mind coming and giving you a demo.
Thanks

Dear Ms. Nair, I understand from your query that you have not subscribed to the job portal but are instead searching on job websites to find resumes, if I am not mistaken. This can happen sometimes, especially if you are new to the job.
Steps to Search for Resumes on Job Portals
To search for resumes on the job portal, you need to obtain an employer membership from the job portal sites by paying the prescribed amount. The fee depends on how many logins you choose for your company. Once you have acquired membership to the job portal, an executive will provide you with a demo on how to use the platform, making your job easier.

Mr. Shreekanth is right.
Step 1: Choose Your Job Portal
First of all, you have to decide which job portal you intend to subscribe to.
Step 2: Contact the Job Portal Sales Team
Call the job portal sales team and discuss with them. Before you discuss, you need to assess the following:
- If your company's name is popular and is located in a leading city/metro, then job posting would help. Job posting means you post the job description and a brief introduction about the company. Jobs posted remain on the portal's web for specified periods, and candidates respond to you. You can view their profiles and then call them for an interview.
- If your company is not very popular, then you need to go in for database access wherein you locate the candidate yourself by accessing the database by giving specific inputs in the search criteria. The search criteria generally contain keywords for the job, experience, salary package you are looking at, and location preference (are you looking for candidates around the globe, in any part of India, etc.). Some job portals charge for overseas resumes.
For accessing the database, there are two types:
1. Specified Resume Views: 500, 1000, etc. (You open up a resume to view it) for a specific period - 6 months, 1 year, etc. In this case, you can log in any number of times during the period, but the license expires either when the number of resume views you opted for expires, say 500, 1000, etc., or your specified period expires, whichever is earlier.
2. Number of Days Access: In this, your license is dependent on the number of days you access during the year, but you can download any number of resumes during the specified number of days. If you opt for 30 days in a year, then the license will be valid for 30 days or 1 year, whichever is earlier.
Step 3: Finalize the Method and Deal
Once you have finalized the method, discuss with the job portal's sales team and finalize the deal. Ask them for a demonstration, and they will help.
Step 4: Access the Employer's Zone
They give you a login and password. Remember, there will be two logins on the job portal: one for the employer and the other for the employee. Log in to the employer's zone, and I think you will be able to do it.
But let me tell you, locating the right candidates on the job portals is quite deceptive. There are instances wherein the candidates write wonderful resumes through resume writers but have no clue about matters mentioned on the resume. On the other hand, some resumes are self-written, and they seem to have better knowledge.
ALL THE BEST!!
Any queries, feel free to write to me at [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons].
