Dear Basivi Reddy,

This is Ritesh, Recruiter Consultant in Hyderabad. Key Performance Area is the area related to your core competency while in your job role within the organization.

Take an example from cricket: like Sachin, his key performance area is batting, but he also fields, bowls, takes catches, etc., as part of his role as a team member of India. I hope this example clarifies some things for you.

Looking for an update from your side.

Take care,
Goodbye,
Ritesh

Hi Basivi Reddy,

Let me explain the difference between Key Result Performance Areas and Job roles. Every job has its significance in the job hierarchy. Each job is subdivided into various tasks to be performed. Some of these tasks are much more important compared to other tasks of the same job and need to be attended to. These key tasks form the basis for performance assessment. To assess an individual's performance, their performance on these tasks is evaluated. Therefore, these are the key performance areas. By performing these tasks, measurable results are achieved.

Job roles refer to the responsibilities that a person must fulfill, encompassing each task required. While the job role is general, the key result areas are specific.
