Yes, Harish, you are entitled to gratuity as it becomes applicable once you complete uninterrupted service of 5 years with the same organization. The calculation of the gratuity amount would be as follows: Gratuity amount = Number of years of completed service × last drawn monthly basic salary.

You are definitely entitled to gratuity at the rate of 15 days of basic salary plus admissible DA for every completed year of service. Since you have completed 8 and a half years of service, you will be entitled to four and a half months' salary + DA in total. A half-year will be counted as a full year, and less than half a year will be ignored. :-D

To be eligible for gratuity, an employee must serve a minimum of 5 years continuously. The total period of service is 8 years and 6 months. For every completed year of service, 15 days will be considered, subject to completion of six months of service. Therefore, it will be 4 months. As you are a central government employee, your Basic Pay + Grade Pay + DA divided by 26 multiplied by 20 days will be the calculation.
