Dear Nalini,

An answer to such a direct question is difficult to find in such forums. Only a formal compensation survey can give you an exact answer. However, I have an idea which may help you with your question. This trick has worked for me on quite a few occasions.

Log on to naukri.com or any other job site. Type in the keywords in the search option for the position you have mentioned. When the results appear, sort out those where the salary band is mentioned. You'll have some idea about what others are paying. Let me know if I make sense.

Good luck,
Prashant

Dear Nalini,

Check on a job board like Naukri or Monster. Just search and see what you can find as the usual salary. I don't understand why that's not helping you.

Unfortunately, I can only access tomorrow morning. Let's see.

Dear Ash Mathew,

Yes, I tried it as I have mentioned earlier too, but can't get an appropriate answer. The salaries are not mentioned in the jobs posted on the net. If some companies have mentioned, they have just around Rs. 12000, Rs. 16000, etc. Some have mentioned a bit more than that, and I can't digest that, keeping in mind the size and reputation of the company, and the candidate's experience too. The company is enormously big, and the candidate is also efficient. The salaries I mentioned here are for the people who are freshers as they ask hardly 2-5 yrs experience, and this is the reason I'm unable to calculate. :-(

I hope someone can help me before tomorrow afternoon. Still, thanks.

Hi,

Please find the attachment regarding Admin-level positions for individuals with 2-5 years of experience. I have only considered candidates from metro cities and specific companies.

The information on salary is also provided. On average, salaries range between 2.2 and 2.4.

Feel free to review the details and consider removing certain positions or companies as needed. I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you.

Hi Seniors,

My family has started a business, and now we are planning to have a separate HR department. What all documents are required to start HR activities? There is a lot to be done. Can you suggest or provide a checklist where I can start working on it?

Thanks

In my opinion, if you are looking for a Senior Administrator for a reputable company, you should consider hiring someone with no less than 6 years of experience and at least a B.Com qualification or its equivalent. The salary range, considering the current recession market conditions, should be as follows:

Minimum - Rs. 4.5 Lakhs
Average - Rs. 5.25 Lakhs
Maximum - Rs. 6 Lakhs

You need to take into account the current inflation and the state's consumer pricing index. Bangalore is even costlier than Delhi. Therefore, in my opinion, since the cost of commodities and living is high, salaries are also higher compared to other states, given that it is an IT hub. Hence, a salary of no less than Rs. 4 Lakhs should be offered; otherwise, the candidate might leave for companies willing to offer higher salaries. Consider all aspects before making a decision.

Hi Nalini,

Instead of checking job portals for the salaries organizations are paying, please check the salaries received by those who fit into your stated job description and industry. Gather the 10 latest profiles from Naukri or monster.com and calculate the average salary of those individuals. This will give you a close estimate.

Please revert if this was of any help.

Regards,
Devashish.

Hi Nalini,

It's simple. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Check if you have a salary structure for the specific position.
2. Check his last drawn salary.
a. If your budget permits, offer him a 30 to 40% appreciation.
OR
b. If your budget is low, negotiate and try to close on the same package.
