Hi Please let me know if the employee resigns during the probation period what should be the notice period? Kindly let me know your views on the same

The notice period for an employee on probation could be anything from 7 days to 30 days. If there is no written policy, the decision should be based on how long the individual has been with the organization and their involvement in projects. The notice period must, in any case, allow for a smooth handover and knowledge transfer.

Dear All,

In our organization, the notice period is stated as 2 months during probation and 3 months after probation for clerical cadre. However, there is no mention of the payment terms if anyone leaves before completing the two months of probation.

I would like to inquire if there are specific rules regarding the notice period both during probation and after probation based on the category of the employee.

Kindly provide clarification on this matter.

It differes from company to company and role to role. For someone at entery or junior level it is 7-15 days.
