Hi nipuna...
you want to take up a course in HR. You have already done PG Diploma in the same stream. Why do you want to shift to MA [Psychology]?? I don't say its a wrong choice but why change your mind within a short span?
As few of our friends have suggested, you can take up specialisation in IR [forget, if u dont like], Payroll, MIS, etc.
Second option, go for ERP solutions such as, Oracle-HRMS, People Soft, SAP-HR [assuming u want a career in HR].
You can pursue distance learning courses from IGNOU, Symbiosis, FMS, etc.
Hope i have not complicated it further... bye :D

Dear Madhu,
Thanks for your suggestion.
you also had told me for the ERP packages so can you tell me from where i can do this as i m in Delhi.
i thought that to pursue a career in a HR field it is necessary to know about psychology as many time we have to counsel the employees regarding the job related problems as may be their potential is decreasing and there are many reasons when you had to know that how you handle the different type of employees at different situations.
so can you suggest me now that what will be good for me as i already told you that what i m thinking about pursuing psychology?
once again thanks a lot for your valuable time that you spent on me.
Thanks,
Nipuna

Dear Nipuna,

I appreciate your intent behind pursuing MA Psychology.

I was in Delhi for 4 years and all I know is Siemens [Greater kailash] for SAP-HR.. Am not aware of the institutes that offer training in Oracle-HRMS and Peoplesoft. However, SAP-HR from Siemens would cost you around Rs.3 lac, which is a huge amount and I think you have to explore options before you plunge into it. U can go for this option, if you want to be HR Functional Consultant..

By the way, what is your job profile? From which institute do u want to pursue MA psychology?

And Nipuna... you have just started working, right? Just try to get hold of the things in the first 3 months. Observe what is the market demand. Scan the opportunities and requirements in resumes. You would meet lot of people at workplace.. Read your peers, colleagues and seniors. Am sure, you would get a clear picture of what you want to do and where you want to go during this time....

Another thing... Until you are clear about what is your career goal, this dilemma would haunt u ... Wish you a very good luck and bright career dear....

you complete diploma course , i need to know which mnc you are working as we going to do higher education we must do in specialised areas ,if your work related to meet people then u do in public relations ,or in recruitment do in that area or in employees management do in leadership or administration, think as per your work nature select the course, also sap hr is more valuable but it not available in part time
