Dear ALL,

I am Sapna Khatri currently working in an Mid size Manufacturing industry(employee strength 1700) which is 10 yr old. I have to implement Balance score card as a performance appraisal system which is further part of People-CMM.

For this I would like to know if anyone has any

• Format of performance appraisal form based on BSC (Including KPA, KPI, Improvement area etc.)

OR

• Any material related to practical implementation of BSC in manufacturing industries.

OR

• Any project report related to above.

OR

• Any contact email id or ph no of any person who is expert in above field.

OR

• Also, in case anyone has done prior research on this, please do let me have a copy of it.

I have done good amount of study on above but Due to lack of hands-on experience, I feel unconfident to develop the system for my company.

What should be the process to start this project?

How implementation of BSC in IT is different from Manufacturing?

As I m really confused how to create link between BSC / Performance Appraisal / PCMM. :?

It will be really helpful for me if I can get the inevitable ideas, suggestions, guidance and relevant material (format of appraisal form and excel sheet).

PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ………………. HELP ME. :(

Desperately waiting for valuable and fast reply...

Regards,

Sapna Khatri

Hi,
In your query, you asked about the specific question:
"As I m really confused how to create link between BSC / Performance Appraisal / PCMM. Confused "
People CMM is broader than just performance appraisal or management - it provides guidance for workforce management and development.
Basic performance appraisal systems are a fundamental piece of implementing P-CMM. More complex (i.e., more mature) implementations address performance feedback for teams or workgroups, as well as individuals. Even more advanced capabilities bring in quantitative analysis of performance and looking at alignment between goals and performance cascading from the organization's business goals all the way down to the lowest employee on the floor. BSC is often used as a way to help make this linkage and show the overall performance of the organization, and units within the organization.

Firstly, it is BALANCED Score card- a score card which is balanced. Many persons make the mistake of calling it Balance Score Card.
Secondly, you can find a lot of websites on the subject if do a Google search.
Thirdly, once the BSC is prepared, KRAs and KPIs need to be drawn up at each level based on the BSC. The PA can then be made based on those KRAs and KPIs.
Fourthly, it will be inadvisable if you do not have experience in the area - for it can result in the organisation being led in the wrong direction. Best to take the help of experts.
