I'm a bit confused between preparing for NET & phd. I'm an MBA in HR. I wanna b a lecturer or professor of HR. i wanna pursue higher studies to enhance my knowledge. I'm baffled by the fact that most colleges gve preference 2 a phd. qualified rather than a NET qualified.
1) My Ist doubt is whether i shud go 4 a phd. or give NET exam to be highly qualified and to be employable with gud salary.
2)2nd doubt is that if i go 4 NET & clear it wud thr b any need to do phd. at ol or otherwise.
i hope that this info. wud b of grt help 4 ol those who've all these Qs in mind.

Even after qualifying NET, you will have to pursue Ph.D. Do not compare the importance of the two. The purpose of each is different.
Importance of NET
If you qualify NET, you become eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor (Lecturer). Final appointment will of course depend upon your interview performance.
Importance of Ph.D.
1. Provides eligibility for lectureship only in some cases where candidates are exempted from NET. Not in all the cases.
2. Ph.D. is imp. for increments plus mandatory for promotion.
Whether or not you qualify NET, it will be advisable to start working on Ph.D. as it takes long time and dedicated effort to be completed. NET is held twice a year so my advice would be to appear for it again and again till you qualify. If you manage to score high in NET and qualify JRF(Juinor Research Fellowhip), you will be paid for pursuing research.

Here i wud like to ask u one more thing that is there any distance learning course which i can pursue after MBA. My area of interest is "Training & Development". Is there any certificate course which can enhance my knowledge & will add value to my CV thru distance learning. Also if there is any regular course from Lucknow & Bhopal. Plz. let me know. I wud highly appreciate ur reply.

There are many distance learning courses you can pursue after MBA. But the point is to keep focus on your ultimate goal. If you wish to go for teaching and research, I don't think you need to go for any such course. In case you wish to add weight to your CV, I suggest you appear for SHRM's certification exam.
