Hi All:
Wanted some info on Rehire policy.

You should not give the employee the old ID, you should deactive the old id and issue him/her a new ID.

Dear Gladys,
Re-hire (Reinstatement) is a very big subject; first of all we have to see if the employee was terminated or resigned or left the company at the end of contract.
If the employee was terminated by mistake and later reinstated upon realization then the Employee Should be allotted his same ID back, he should be considered as a continuous employee from the date of his joining and his End of Service Benefits shoudl be given from the first day of his joining.
If the employee left the job based on resignation or end of contract then You can issue a new ID since there is no reason to consider his service as continuously. His end of service settlement will be calculated from the date of his re-join.
Hopes replied to your query!
Please do not hesitate to contact me for further.
