the difference between HRM and PM is not much to say but there are main difference that is the attitude of approach. when it was PM it was personnel work management were the department will try to manage the work of the employee that is their salary, promotion etc., so that time PM was looked why this deparmtent is needed for the company only .

but when HRM was there totally a attitude difference came may be we can say that from lower rung of maslows hireracry we have moved to the top rungs. that is doing the job with a dedication and difference. here we in Human Resouce management we tried to get the best out of people. we tried to motivate. we said the department HRM gets more value to the organisation. in this the process were concentrated towards people. tehre in the top it was more administration oriented only. this is mainly due to global change persepective and india moving in to globalisation. this has led to many new area buding in the corporate like talent management, KM, CPO etc.,

Personnel management is the activity of managing personnel, usually employees.
Human Resource Management : Is the Wider Concept than PM, it is directly related to the development of HR (Managing HR is the part of it)
