hi
ESI IS STATUTORY BUT WC IS MANDATORY IF EMPLOYER WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF THE WELFARE OF THE EMPLOYEES. EMPLOYER MUST APPLY FOR ESI COVERAGE AND WC ALSO CAN TAKE FOR THE WELFARE FOR TAX PURPOSE (PL CHECK WITH INCOME TAX ACT FOR THE EXEMPTION) AS THIS SHOWS THE WELFARE EXPENSES.
ESI DURING SERVICE THEY CAN AVAIL THE MEDICAL BENEFITS WHICH INCLUDES TO THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS IF ITS FEMALE EMPLOYEE EVEN FEMALE MOTHER IS ELIGIBLE FOR ESI FOR COVERAGE BUT FOR MEN (MOTHER IN LAW ) IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ESI PL CHECK IN THE ESI ACT IN EXEMPTION MENU

For expanding our activities recently we have purchased a land which is very far away from city (it is in remote village) where there is no ESI dispensary, hospital, govt hospital etc.
What we should to do to cover our self under ECA.
Although we take all the measure for employees safety but our mfg. process is prone to accident.

The name of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 has been changed to The Employee's Compensation Act, 1923 w.e.f. year 2010 vide amendment carried out by Parliament.
In order to claim compensation or benefits under any of the enactments, it must be indicated as to whether the employee was covered under ESI Act, 1948 or under Employee's Compensation Act, 1923.
