Hi All,

I would like to share one problem with all of my seniors that any ware in our organizational policy, it is not written that salary is a confidential matter. So that Account department & Admin department disclose the salary of every employee whoever ask for that. Every one knows each other salary. Now it’s creating a comparison with two employees who are getting less salary with same responsibility or position with other one who is getting more salary.
My management ask me to write a letter to worn or inform to the concern departments for making salary as a confidential matter.
Can any one suggest me how can I write a warning letter to the concern departments.

Thanks,

dear
you should not be demotivated with this because u want some legal suggestion or any suggestion very one will be keen to use their mind but if u will ask a simple letter to be drafted on behalf of you ,no one has time.
in this case you just write a circular that salary is confidential and no one will disclose it to others ,failing which disciplinary action will be taken.

Disclosing salary by individual in good faith and in friendly terms by one employee to another doesnot amounts to misconduct and not offence....
If your payroll officer/Incharge is disclosing then he is liable for reprimand..causing disharmony in organization.
Salary of person working in same position does not necessarily be the same as peers because salaries are determined on the basis of many other factors:
Date of Joining
Qualification
Expereince
Market price of the job
Seniority
Decision making
Knowhow
Responsiblity
Accountability
Performance
But its also not fare to disclose salaries that doesnot bring any good to the organization...But if employees share among hemselves HR has to differentiate and justify what makes the difference..

And why you choose the warning letter, your boss asked you to either inform them or warn them, DO U KNOW THE MEANING OF WARNING?????
WARNING MEANS WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING THAT IS PROHIBITED and TILL TODAY NOWHERE IT IS WRITTEN THAT SALARY SHOULD NOT BE DISCLOSED. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE HR DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN GO ON ISSUING WARNING LETTERS TO ALL.
WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY REGARDING THIS,, hrr:-x:-x

Hai ankita,
i have two points to share..
1. according to me no need to issue the warning letter. But you can get them apology letter for misconduct in the organization.
2. If you want this same incident should not happened again, you have include this point in your appointment order. " salary is confidential, if you fail to follow this,it will lead to the termination"
that's it
