Dear Suresh KNR,
Good that as a manpower consultant you opened this topic. I am a HR manager working in corporate and also searching a new job. Hence I can view the problem from both sides. My observations from my own experiences are as under :
1) Consultant agencies limit their jobs only upto the candidate reaching their client company and then totally ignore him. The candidate's follow-up for feed-back and reimbursement claims are not replied at all. How you think the candidate believe on any agency next time ?
2) The client-company conveniently push all follow-up queries from the candidate to the consultant as if it is not their business at all !!
3) Regarding candidates, yes few are genuine and many are casuals or just fence-sitters. The consultant should be able to differentiate between two by their level of communication.
It is easier to blame other but difficult to introspect, but that only works !
best

Dear All,

Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions....

But i think consultants also responsible for this because some times untrained counselor or telecaller communication..candidates think he is the best candidates on the earth and consultant do not have any other good candidates for that post.

I am running placement from last 2 and half years and i have seen that candidates are not responsible, career oriented and hardworking like past. They always come with the profile that is created by them and asking for that type of job.
unfortunate part is that in place of making him realize about his strength, telecaller or counselor start to buttering him and that is the first wrong step taken by a consultant.
We consultants have to change our working style otherwise candidates and employer would enjoy and we will suffer a lot.We have changed our working style because we are not an information centre ..We are not selling anything...We are providing a career growth to candidates and good employee to organizations...they both have to understand consultants importance.

I do not have much complain on employer side because we are working with lot of organizations and they all are doing well and co-operate with us.
But regarding Candidates we all have to think strongly and should be taken step that they should realize that we are not just working for our earning...Hope everybody will agree with me....

See my dear suresh,
in every consulting firm it happening normally
but it is better to scheduled who is interesting towards the job. we have to analyse the candidate whether he can go or not
of course as a recruiter we need to look after these type of things. until and unless we can't survive in our job
my best wishes
