Hi, I am working as a software professional in a top MNC company in Bangalore. It so happened that I received a job offer from the North Sea Oil Company. I applied for the position, and they sent me a form to fill in the details and requested my resume. My resume was shortlisted, and later, they mentioned that for some reason, they were unable to conduct a telephone interview but instead sent me questions via email. I answered the questions and replied promptly. I have been selected for the position, and they have sent me an agreement contract outlining details such as my salary, accommodation, flight ticket, and leave policy. However, I am required to pay the visa processing fee. I am providing the company's address below:

North Sea Oil Scotland,
Westfield House 4 Mollins Road, Cumbernauld Aberdeen Scotland, G689HD, United Kingdom, Phone: 00448712458162

Can you investigate and confirm whether this company is genuine or fake?

Shankar

Don't ever entertain this. Do not pay any amount to them. I definitely hope it's a fake company. Nowadays, this has become a trend to earn money. Be careful.

No company will ask the employed employee to pay the Visa processing fee. Another point to be thought of is that they didn't have any telephonic interview, and the offer is purely based on the answers given by you in the questionnaire. Come on, how's that possible? Even someone else can answer it, or else we have our best friend Google to help out. Beware of such companies.

Dear Sankar,

These are all 100% fake companies. Normally, the company will conduct a Telephonic Interview or Video conferencing Interview. Without any formalities, how can a company select you? The emailers will give a bank account and contact person from the UK High Commission office. He may be the brother or some relative of embassy employees.

If you send some mail to them, they will reply as follows, which was received by me:

Dear Sir,

There is no difference between the names as they are the same thing. He is called Andrew and Stan; those are his names, and Stewart is the father's name. The most important thing here is that after you have signed the agreement and accepted all the terms and conditions, you are still requesting the company to bear the processing fee. This is disappointing on your part, and in this regard, the appointment expires immediately before the expiry date written in this agreement because your statement indicates your interest to work with us, and we do not entertain doubt.

Thanks for all your responses so far.

Regards,

Mr. Brooklyn Daniel

Please check whether the names mentioned in the letter and email ID names are tallying. I sent an email as follows, for which I received the above mail:

First of all, it is not understood why you are not sending your email from your email ID. Your name seems to be Mr. Sten Stewart, and in this email, the name mentioned is Dr. Andrew Stewart.

Sir, I would like to request your honorable office to bear the cost of Visa Processing charges and Traveling documents, and the same may be deducted from my monthly salary in 4 equal installments.

After receipt of the concrete confirmation from your honorable office, I will submit the further documents either through email or in person.

Expecting an early reply, which will help me in proceeding further.

They will tell you, after remitting the money, to wait for 10 days. Then you will get your air ticket and visa; we have opened a file for you, and other nonsense stories.

If you approach after 15 days at the gate itself, you will be stopped, and this is not their embassy/high commission letter, and no such employee will be working with them.

So never (Repeat) never believe such correspondence. Like me, for time pass, you can do correspondence, but do not pay.

Presently, Videocon and Maruti Suzuki companies' names are also being used by these cheating groups.

Beware of fake mail. Never give your Bank Account Details/PAN Details and other relevant financial documents.

Be cautious.

With warm regards,

If so, then such emails should be forwarded to those companies; only then will they be aware that their company name is being misused by some miscreants. This will also affect the reputation of such companies.

If you send a letter to those companies by post or through courier, they will not accept the courier. Mainly, highly qualified people are becoming prey to these types of fake company targets. Even in the Chennai suburb area, a police station received an email of an interview letter. Beware and be cautious.

Beware of Fake Companies

These are fake companies being operated through mail from Nigerian soil. They will ask for visa fees and then license fees, etc. I know many gullible people have lost huge amounts of money. This is similar to lottery prize money emails.
