Hi, This is Jagan from Coimbatore and I posting for the 1st time. I am working for a consultancy and I would like to know the procedure for giving layoff to the employees at Middle and Senior level. These people are paid between 10K to 30K.

Hi Jagan,
You have to see whether these employees are coming under purview of definition as
" workmen " under Industrial disputes Act. If workmen under ID act then you have to pay layoff compensation and get permission from authority ( Labour dept ) if it exceeds 100 workmen. If they fall into management and staff category it is not necessary to follow these procedure.
