Dear Basel,
Yes, you can combine comp off and weekly off together. For example, if you want to take comp off on Friday and you have a 5-day week, in that case, you can avail 3 days of holidays. Friday would be a comp off, and Saturday and Sunday would be weekly off.

Please let me know if managers are not eligible for availing Comp off. My management denies giving this benefit to managers and above. Is it correct, or are managers also included to avail this benefit?
Dear Mgautam,
Anyone, irrespective of their designation, can avail compensatory time off. There is no law that states managers and above cannot take comp time. However, it depends on the internal company policy whether they would be permitted to utilize this benefit or not.
Thank you.

Hi Katyana,
Thanks for the reply. I agree that this is an internal policy of the company to sanction comp time off for managers. My management says that working on Sundays is part of a manager's responsibility, so no comp time off for them.
Is it right that we keep on exploiting people like this? If a person has worked on a holiday, it's their right to avail of it the next day. But my management fears that people might start taking advantage of the policy. That's why they are not involving managers, as they are the ones mainly working on days off.

Dear All, I have generated this format to maintain a record of C OFF. Please do suggest any changes to be made. Regards, Pankaj Sharma

Dear Mr. Gautam,
No, it is not the responsibility of managers to work on Sunday (please refer to the Shops and Establishment Act). But yes, they are liable to work on Sundays if they have one weekly off in that week. Try to convince your management that giving a comp off in lieu of any weekly off or public holiday is employees' rights, and they cannot violate the rules.
