I have worked in two companies and have joined a new company. During the background check, will they just call the previous company for verification, or will they contact all the companies for employment verification? In any case, I have submitted both companies' relieving letters.

Hi, It depends on the Employer. But mostly verification process will be carried out with the last employer through email.

It is based on the employer, they will verify previous employment companies as a background check.

Some companies conduct background verification (BGV) themselves, while many employ BGV agencies to perform the verification. The verification is typically done with the immediate previous company. However, if there is a break in service between two past employments and you do not have proper or convincing justifications for the break, then the BGV can extend to previous employments as well.
