I am currently working (8 months) in a government sector where the PF is autonomous (no UAN number). I am also pursuing an MTech degree (regular) alongside my job since everything has been online due to COVID. Now, I have received an off-campus placement in an MNC, and I plan to leave the government sector. I have not disclosed this government employment, and if asked, questions will arise about how I managed to pursue an MTech while working full-time. I am being treated like a fresher straight out of college.
Background Verification Concerns
My question is, can they track my government job during background verification (3rd party check) or after I join the MNC, or when I file income tax returns?

Disclosure of Government Employment in MNC Background Checks
When you started your career in the government sector and are registered with the Government PF, you should not have hidden the fact of your employment from your prospective employer. As an MNC, they have a sophisticated system for tracking such information. Hence, suppressing such information can be detrimental to your future employment.

Importance of Transparency in Employment History
Firstly, it's very important to note that hiding any past records, activities, employment details, etc., can be risky for your hiring prospects.
Background Verification Processes
Secondly, with the rapid increase in job opportunities, most companies are resorting to stringent background verification processes, including resume verification. The screening processes pick up all aspects of your past one by one: education, employment, address, court records, etc. There's no way you can keep your past employment under wraps for long.
