Termination Without Reason and Workplace Issues

I was working with a startup company for less than a year when they terminated me without providing any reason. This company was a franchise of a US company and falls under the IT and other computer-related services business category.

There were multiple issues that arose:

1. The company did not have a shop act license.
2. The company did not comply with labor laws.
3. The company did not maintain a gender ratio - 4 females vs. 23 males.
4. HR policy documents and guidelines were not in place.
5. Various facility issues existed such as washroom conditions, air conditioning, cleanliness, and lack of ancillary staff.
6. The company did not pay the salary as per the contract after termination.
7. Full and final settlement was not provided even though the committed period had passed.
8. The manager verbally abused employees, used inappropriate language, and once raised a hand in a dispute.
9. The company did not support in the PF process; they deducted PF but did not assist in the process.

Unfortunately, I do not have any evidence as my laptop was taken away one day, and I was asked to leave without prior notice. They also made derogatory comments, stating they do not care about legal actions.

Please advise on the steps to take in this situation.

Sincerely

Dear friend,

You have provided nine points. Out of these, points No. 1 and 2 are the most important. Since the firm is not registered, the rest of the points are of no consequence. Therefore, at this stage, you may approach the Labour Officer of your area and file a written complaint with the Assistant Labour Commissioner. Once they raid the company premises, the truth will come out.

Thanks,

Most of the large US companies are very conscious about compliance and behavior.

You may also send an email to the parent company complaining about this. If you have their Twitter ID, and it is widely followed, posting on Twitter generally gets an immediate response.
