Working Hours in Software Companies

How many hours can an employee work in a software company? What can one do if the working hours exceed due to project deadlines every day? Is there any law that supports the employees? This has become very common in today's world. Foreign companies often have hectic working hours that don't give the employee breathing space.

In some cases, labor laws regulate the maximum number of hours an employee can work in a week. However, specific laws vary by country and region. Employees facing excessive working hours due to project deadlines should consider discussing their concerns with HR or management. It's important for both employers and employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout and ensure productivity.

As per the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, the maximum working hours per week are 48 hours, excluding the lunch break and tea/coffee breaks. As you mentioned, due to project deadlines, many companies typically work late evenings and, of course, full nights as well during peak deadline periods.
