Consultation on Workers' Rights Under Labor Laws
One of my friends needs consultation on workers' rights under various labor laws. A manufacturing company is operating as follows:
• Overtime payment at a single rate.
• Uniform and shoes are not provided.
• No bonus is provided.
• Working shifts of 12 hours or more in a day.
• No standing order is in place.
• Workers are terminated without proper reason or intimation, etc.
In the above conditions, what kind of action can a labor/worker take when currently working? Please help.

Dear RRY, The workers will form union in the factory and then it will be the biggest problem to all. So form the policies as per factory act and implement it along with minimum wages.

Thank you for your valuable advice. However, my question is this: we are from the labor side. Could you kindly suggest the procedure and format to bind the management of the company to adhere to the rules and regulations without any disputes?

You can make a complaint to the Dy. / Asst. Labour Commissioner for the practices in the manufacturing entity mentioned above. Moreover, the Asst. Director of Health & Safety (Factory Inspector) can also be approached regarding the working hours of the entity.
You should first approach the Dy. / Asst. Labour Commissioner of your area and provide him with a written complaint about the non-adherence to labor laws in the factory.
