Hi, I am working in the HR department of an international call center. What can be the maximum working hours per day? I think the Factories Act is not applicable. Do we come under the Shops and Establishment Act? If yes, then please tell me what should be the maximum working hours per day and per week. We are open 6 days a week. Please help me ASAP.

Working Hours for Call Centers Under the Shops and Establishments Act
A call center is covered under the Shops and Establishments Act of the state in which it is located. Normally, under the Shops Act, the maximum working hours per day are 9 hours, subject to a maximum of 48 hours per week, with a spread over of 11 hours in a day (in some states it may be more). Please verify the Shops Act of your state since each state has its own act.
