Seeking Career Advice in HR Transition
I am working in an MNC as a Jr. Executive. My work profile is a mix of various tasks such as handling attendance and overtime, assisting in reports, coordinating with the HR department for manpower of the engineering department, handling general administration work, and organizing employee engagement activities like employee get-togethers and arranging parties for engineering department family members. I also handle ticket booking coordination with the HR department, exit interview formalities, induction and training coordination, vendor permission, etc.
I completed my MBA in HR in September 2010 (part-time). Upon completion, I approached the HR Manager for any opportunity in the HR department. Unfortunately, he mentioned that there were no openings in HR at that time, and they hired other individuals for the HR department without giving me a chance. I am currently feeling frustrated with my current job profile as I am unable to showcase my skills properly, and when I apply for HR-related openings elsewhere, I am not receiving any opportunities.
I kindly seek your suggestions on what steps I should take next. Please help me, seniors.

After reviewing your responsibilities, it appears you are primarily handling HR tasks such as induction, payroll management, manpower planning, MIS reports, employee engagement, training, exit formalities, and some administrative duties. This is a generalist role. With an MBA in HR, you have the potential to secure a good HR generalist position. Stay patient and also explore other aspects of HR.
Good luck.

Currently, you are engaged in many HR activities, but the issue from your perspective is that you are not involved in the complete cycle. However, you can acquire these skills; there is no need to become frustrated.
