Hi,
Please let me know the procedure to be followed if an employee goes on a week's casual leave but does not resume work, and no intimation is received regarding an extension of the leave. The employee has not resigned from our services, served the notice period, or paid the salary in lieu of the notice period.
We understand that this employee has taken a job with another company. Is there a legal procedure through which we can inform the HR of the other company about this employee's absence from work and their joining them? What actions need to be taken in such cases?
Please advise.

Dear Navya,
You can take disciplinary action for his unauthorized absence or issue notices to resume duties to the concerned employee for making the case of self-abandonment from services. Give reasonable opportunities as there are no hard and fast rules. If you have CSO, then take action as per these Orders. It is also intimated that there is no legal procedure for intimating the HR personnel of the unit where he has joined.
