My organization is giving 3 optional holiday out of 15 that employees have to choose from from the list. If one employee is on notice period can he/she take an optional holiday from his/her 3 optional holidays as he/she has not taken a single optional holiday of his/her account??????????????

Dear sir/ Mam,
If you mean Holidays, the Gazetted Holidays, yes.In fact national holidays need not be applied as that day, offices/ factories are declared closed by Govt. and in case they open, then you are entitled salary at double rates and one leave also .
If you mean Hoildays a leave then same will be as per your company's leave policy.Leaves are subject matters of application and approvals.

Thank you... Can an HR or an immediate superior has the right not to grant leave if leave applied by the employee is not that much necessary.. Or organization is bound to grant leave as the employee has the right to get it.
Please clarify it.Thank you in advance.

MAMA@SDRC.
National Holidays are Compulsory,
OPTIONAL Holidays are given from among the Festival Holidays declared. Optional Holiday is considered if the employee is taking the particular Festival day which is as declared for ex: Vijay Dashami, Muharrum, Divali are now due. HODcan give OH from ANY declared FH depending on the exigencies of work & his eligibility as per Co.'s Holiday Policy.

May be on notice period, while in service, an employee has the option to avail optional holidays, if otherwise not restricted formally by any order or provision in the CSO.

Dear Mama,
Already replied your mail.
Leaves are subject matters of application and approvals. It will depend on your co's leave policy. General practice is that an immediate superior recommends and functional heads approve. HR Head is supposed to see that Leave policy is observed in letter and spirit ; ensures absenteeism control. .
