Could you kindly tell me
1. How does the PF get transferred when u change an employer.
2. Is it ok to receive an appointment letter from the new employer via mail? or has it to be a hard copy to be assured before leaving the current employer?

Dear Nisha,
In case u want to transfer your PF than u have to fill a form available at your current company and deposit in the PF office and it automatically get transferred to your account.
And as far as Appointment lettter is concerned you can get Offer Letter by e-mail but it is better that you get hard copy of Appointment Letter because that's more Relaible.

Hi Nisha,
As far as PF transfer is concern, you have to fill the PF transfer form from your current company then it will go to your previous employer for further processing and then your money get transferred.
Its always wise to accept the hard copy of appointment letter as it is more authentic.

Thanks srishti and Khyati.
I asked my new employer to give me an appointment letter- hard copy.
Regarding the PF transfer, thanks for your inputs.
I am currently serving a notice period in my current company and would join the new employer in nov.
Is it also true, that instead of filling up a form for PF transfer, we can just take a PF no. from my current employer and give to the new employer once I join them? And the money would directly get transferred?
Kindly guide.
Thank you for your response

hi
get a pf transfer from from your local office and get this filled from your present employer and then send it your previous employer, they will further send it to PF office, PF office will do the formalities and send it back to you current employer.
Do get hard copy of appointment letter as soft copy may not carry signatures of the employer

Hi...
Actually, Every Employer has its different form of PF transfer with letter head of its name..So for the PF transfer form...U just ask to your HR and he will definitely help you..Because I also need that so I will also take from my HR..In that form they will ask for your old PF Account number and the Current PF account number in which the old PF amount u want to transfer...OK..

HI All
I am in a big Mess. I had to trnsfer my PF account from the previous organization to the new. However due to hectic schedule ..I forgot filling up the PF Transfer form ...and submitted the same after 6 months of my service in the new organization. I was amazed to find that my previous organization had already transferred my PF amount to my savings acount quoting that they received my application after 2 months of my leavin the organization ..and in that case the transfer the amount to savings account by default and without any intimation to me . Now As a result , since I had not completed 5 years of service , have to bear a huge tax liability (as the whole PF amount , credited to my savings account has been treated as my income).
I would like to have your sugggestions in this case . Is there really any 2 months limit within which you need to get your PF account get transferred. Can I sue them for this ??? Please Help me out .....
