Congratulations Hema...
Its a wonderful oppurtunity that has fallen in your hands...
A small tip to start your work...
Have a individaul conversation with all the employees including the housekeeping.
Take their views... Ask them how they feel to work at the current company,
likes,dislikes, suggestions for improvement...
You will automatically get an idea how to work...
Have a look at the HR manual which is available on this site. Use this as a foundation to start your HR department...
Always have a positive thought at work and give your 100%
You need anything, kindly get in touch with me...

All the best..

Hi Hema,

I would like to add few more to the earlier suggestions. First understand your company requirements, if they hired your for the HR-Manager post they are expeting some deliverables in HR front for Organization growth.
  • Try to have regular meetings with your management at least once in week and understand what the requirements they have according to that plan your work
  • You need to split your work into 2 categories one is Regular day to day responsibilities. and second one value added things to stregthen HR functions, example attendance, leaves, payroll etc comes under your first category you should focus them as per the time lines. as well as you need to give importance to second category like.. policy formulations, new process setups, and new events planning etc.
  • First initate with the regular works. and similary focus on People engagements like celebrating birthdays, planning outings, conducting team building games, having some fun events.
Feel freee get involve with the people and understand managment requirements then definitely your job will become easier.

Please revert if you need any help.

Hello Hema,
Check this link: https://www.citehr.com/99968-major-hr-links-10.html
It's a goldmine. just begin to map your company's needs with the info available and discuss with the management--AND ensure to highlight HOW & WHY what you are suggesting to them wil help them & the company.............just remember none will buy something if they don't see something that benefits them. Asha's advice reg approvals is good....ensure you follow them.
All the best.
