If you lose your mobile, I've got an interesting fact to share. Nowadays, each one of us carries a Hi-Fi mobile device and always fears that it may be stolen.

Each mobile carries a unique IMEI, i.e., International Mobile Identity Number, which can be used to track your mobile anywhere in the world. This is how it works!

Hi all,

Sorry to sound negative on this, but also a fact to add... Do we know if this works? Who is ? It could be some unethical person getting the location of the "handset" if you have locked it. He can unlock it if he gets the IMEI number. Just being a Devil's Advocate... No offense to the person who posted this info. Thanks to you, we at least know how to get our IMEI number.

I lost my mobile Nokia 6110 Navigator with IMEI number 354847014969451 and sent an email to . I will keep you all posted if it helps me trace my set back.

My Nokia customer service informed me that such a facility is not available (not introduced) in India and asked me to contact my mobile service provider. My Vodafone service only blocked my number but did not trace it.

I have filed an FIR with my nearest police station, Bund Garden Pune. It seems tracing a handset using an IMEI number did not help me.

Any comments from forum members?

Regards, Sukhendu
