Hello everyone, let's have a discussion on NLP. Inputs from my side are:

Neurolinguistic programming is a wonderful technique, introduced by Bandler & Grinder. There are presuppositions related to NLP:

1. There is a mind-body connection.
2. The mind has both conscious and subconscious parts.
3. A person's experience of the world is processed and organized exclusively in terms of the five senses.
4. Physiology, sensory representation, and emotion comprise the internal state.
5. Behavior is the result of systematically ordered sequences of sensory representations.
6. All behavior occurs in the context of the internal state.
7. People exhibit their internal state in their language (verbal and non-verbal).

NLP can help in introducing desired behavior through:

1. Change in body postures.
2. Change in gestures.
3. Change in eye movements.
4. Language forms.
5. Changes in tone and tempo of voice.

Hey, anyone interested in a discussion on NLP!

Cheers,
Shikha Sahai

Hi Shikha,

Glad to find one more person interested in NLP. I am passionate about NLP - having been introduced to it in 1997. I regularly conduct introductory programs on NLP in Bangalore. I work in the areas of belief change, using language to effect changes, and other practical applications of NLP. In fact, in the next citeHR Bangalore meet, I'm presenting about NLP and how it can be of use to HR folks. I see from your language that you are an academician. With your NLP exposure, you will realize that the meaning of your communication is the response it gets. You may have noticed a few of my posts on NLP in cite HR on how to use reframing, etc.

Interesting subject. I also have taken part in an NLP program few years back when I was schooling and found it refreshing. It's amazing what we can do once we set our minds to it and all the barriers we can over come.
Sadly it is not a widely recognized program down here hence only a handful of people are aware of it.
However if I am given the chance of practicing it and taking part in it all over again I would have no hesitation what so ever because it gave me a indescribable experience of a life time.
