Not knowing what your employees are thinking can hurt you. Knowing their feelings, concerns, likes, and dislikes enables you to accentuate the positives and eliminate the negatives. If people are content and pleased to be working for you, then you should recognize it. If they are unhappy and concerned, then you should know that and be prepared to deal with it.
Management is often the last to hear about "hidden" problems. An Employee Attitude Survey gives you the information you need to make effective and meaningful changes in your daily and long-term operations. The questions should be unambiguous, straightforward, and should leave no room for misinterpretation or dual responses.
Questions should focus on these areas to find out if the employees think:
- They get constructive feedback from their manager.
- They have the tools necessary to do their job.
- They understand how their work performance is judged.
- They feel empowered to address customer issues.
- They believe that there are opportunities for them to advance at ABC Company.
- They believe that they are being paid fairly.

Dear Colleagues,
Is the Employee Attitude Survey being confused with the Employee Satisfaction Survey? There are already existing posts on the Employee Satisfaction Survey, but when it comes to measuring attitude, the tools and methods used could potentially be biased or skewed depending on the administrator - whether it's through questionnaires, interviews, etc.
For example, if employees are asked to rate themselves on aspects like respect, obedience, adherence, loyalty, etc., they may give themselves high scores even if they are lacking in these areas. Similarly, if their Line Managers are the ones evaluating them, the appraisal might not reflect their actual performance, leading to potential discrepancies.
In light of this, I just want to ensure that the focus is on the Satisfaction Survey. Thanks.

Dear Aditi,
Like many bloggers, you have also sought help without providing enough information about yourself or the organization and its activities. Have you searched CiteHR and the web for information on Employee Attitude Surveys and questionnaires? If not, I suggest that you kindly do so.
