Hello :)

We are an upcoming software company having an offshore development center in Nashik, with clients across the globe. We have opened a new sales branch office in Rajasthan (Kota) for our domestic business.

Now, we are planning to transfer one of our sales team members to this new location, but we don't have a transfer policy in place.

I have started drafting a policy, but a few things I am not clear about are:
1. Daily Allowance
2. Special Allowance
3. Any other allowances

It would be great if someone could help me with the guidelines for drafting a transfer policy. My email ID is vishalg@winjit.com.

Hi Vishal,

When transferring an employee, you must have set objectives. The appointment letter must include a clause for transfer. The transfer should be followed by the following:

- Company letter exempting taxes levied on commercial goods during the transportation of household goods.
- Reimbursement of transportation costs.
- Travel fare with expenses for family members from the present place to the place of transfer.
- Initial settlement expenses, if any, as employee assistance for gas connection and other expenses.
- Salary adjustment provision and incentives based on the cost of living in the new city.

I hope the above information will be helpful to you.

Hello,

If you have completed the drafting of the Transfer policy for your company, can you share it with me? I also need to draft the transfer policy for my company. However, it would be a short-term transfer because we are an engineering company dealing in Hydro Powers. We have sites all across India and need to transfer employees for a certain duration to complete projects.

So, I would like to incorporate certain aspects from your policy. Please email me at kiran.sharma@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
Kiran Sharma

Hello,

If an employee is transferred from one unit to another (company name is different), the employee carries his leave status with him to the new unit. He claims that his leave should be adjusted in the new formation. For details, please see the example below:

Transferred from ABC Company to XYZ Company, but the group is the same. Is he eligible for his previous leave in the new establishment?

Please reply to .
