HI,

Its been long time for me to post article in the site even though I update many things from this.

OK Any how.........

Recently one of our employee quit the company and as per the comapny policy he is supposed to get his F&F by 21st day. Since our HR Operations in Bangalore employees have to keep in touch with the Bangalore Office. As a location incherge I followed up and got the news that employees Cheque is ready.

This week on Monday, I got a mail from the location leader of our center stating that HR is not doing thier duty which really hurt me.

After the mail again I followed up with the HRops team came to know that they would process the cheque only on that purticular day.

After this incident I updated our location leader and I expressed my unhappy about the incident.

This incident made us get in to a discussion of HR behaviour on out going employees or left employees. It seems that when an employee wants to quit the company HR would negotiate with them and try to retain them in all ways and means. But if the same employee is stuburn to quit the company, the attitude of HR turns 90* and behave very hard on them.

They are not even bother to pay them on time and are taking thier own sweet time to complete the work thinking that the employee wouldn't turn up.

I really supported his ponit, and here, try to supplement what he noded.
From my experience I have seen the same lethaginess form my executive who were not even shown any interest to close this.

GUYS when an employee gives his resignation, we do anything for them to keep them in but why are we not bother about his settlements when quits the company.

I would like to remaind you WHEN WE SPEND LOTS OF MONEY TO ATTRACT AN EMPLOYEE WHY ARE WE MAKING THEM SO UNHAPPY WHEN THEY LEAVE THE COMPANY.

I HOPE EVERY ONE IN THE FORUM ACCEPT THAT ALL LEFT EMPLOYEE ARE FUTURE PROSPECTS OF OUR COMPANY.

WHEN WE WANT CANDIDATES TO COME AND ATTEND INTERVIEW HAPPILY AND WHEN WE WANT OUR EMPLOYEES TO BE HAPPY IN THE COMPANY. WHY ARE WE NOT BOTHERED ABOUT EMPLOYEES' HAPPY EXIT.

IF AN EMPLOYEE LEAVES HAPPILY WITH HR WHAT EVER MAY BE THE REASON FOR HIS EXIT, I AM SURE HE WOULD COME BACK TO
OUR COMPNAY WITH OUT ANY SECOND THOUGTS IF HR EMPLOYEES ARE GOOD. THIS WOULD ALSO REDUCE LOT OF RECRUITMENT COST.

I KINDLY REQUEST HR TEAM TO TREAT OUTGOING EMPLOYEES WITH MORE HUMANE APPROCH.

I WELCOME COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS

Dear

I understand & want to highlight that in few cases HR is depending on the bosses like V.P, Director, CEO, CMD for the approval of the Ful & Final settlement.

If in case Boss wants to stop due to any reason, Hr is caught to be failure in the F& F settlement. This issue / failure HR is not disclosing to other dept or outsiders beacuse of their image.

Unless it is approved our dear Finance dept can not make a cheque.

In few companies top mgmt pretends that they are good & having good work culture & give many good talks. But if any of the employee leave the job & HR is not getting the replacement on time they neglect to sign the clearance & keep on passing time.

Their are various reason for the delay- in many case signing authority is not avaiable, fund is not avaiable etc.,

As an outsider or other dept staff, we feel HR is delaying intentionally. Think logically if HR person quits, he will also face the same problem. May be in some companies HR may delay due to work load /other urgent assignment. But intentionally they will not dealy because HR also wants to be good infront of all the staff.

I dont agree fully to what you tell.
As far as I know, it is HR who process claims, and gives to finance department to make cheque, for kind information HR never makes, signs cheques. All statutory benefits clearance lies in hands of HR.
The employees feel that the HR is unnecessarily delaying the payment of PF, Salary and other statutory benefits BECAUSE IT IS DISPLAYED FROM THE COLD ATTITUDE OF HR, even if employee calls up HR to enquire about the payment, the HR does not correctly answer regarding status, and arrogantly speaks on calls, thus making candidate feel like never call the HR again.
The HR who spoke sweetly when employee was in service, thinks he is doing a favor to employee by paying him his statutory dues, many HR dont even bother to inform the candidate that his such and such amount is pending, and keep MUM till the employee himself enquires about it.

Hi,

I was going through the discussion happening above, I completely agree that 98% of companies do not pay attention to the employees who are exiting from company.

Company starts treating an exiting employee as an enemy as soon as he/she resigns

I guess All HR people should understand the sensitivity of the matter as an employee who has served a company and leaving will never recommend the others known professionals to join an organization which creates a problems for exiting employees.
Thanks

Hi,
As many reply has been posted related to this i just want to say i do agree with this, if HR persons will not reply properly than who will be responsible for this????

As i am working as a Executive Back Office, Admin. with a broking company in Jaipur, our HR operations is in Delhi so i also face the same problem many times.

As a location incharge i am responsible for the joining & seperation process of employees. when an employee join the HR persons frequently asked to complete their joining formalities to me but when an employee resign i have to asked to HR many times for their f&f settlement.
It's totally unethical.....................

If we welcome any employee with full attention than we should exit him with full attention too.

Butt i am not able to understand why HR people don't do their duties in a right way . HR MEANS "HIRE AND RETAIN" whatever is the reason at least they can reply properly ,when i asked to our HR about the same they replied we don't know the exact date the F&F is in process as we complete our process we shall get back to you.
Is this a proper reply??????????
Every person have their own adjustments with their financial position. I have seen a example for the same in my comapany an employee resigned on 20th may but his F&F is still pending. he asked me that his LIC premium chq. has been bounced due to unsufficient fund bcoz our HR said that they will realese his chq. with in a week, the same i conveyed to him and now it's over a month they didn't send his F&F chq.

I am not able to understand what should i reply to resigned employee ?????
Is it right to missguide them for their own money????

If we want services on time from employees than we should also pay on time after all it's their rights.
It's my experience whatever the case may be,the HR person should consider employees requirement as well as company's .

Really it's nice to share our experience and views at one place and all credit goes to cite hr that enables all of us to share our exp. here.

Dear Archana,
Excellent. I do agree with you.
It is not we are trying to blame HR it is brain stroming session for all of us. Atleast now we can realize what would be going on in resigned employees mind.
I could some of us wrote like it is Finance who delay but it again our smartness to get the F&F of any resigned employee.
Thanks for your wondeful thoughts my friend. You have given a new version of HR in your mail

Infact this is very good topic to discuss and the fact is once an employee resigned in an organization the mangmnt will try to screw him/her. Ofcouse its unethical & they are completly forgetting about the particular employee's contribution or long service. Trust me it happnd to me though I was senior staff in HR. The same thing I informed HR Manager never treat any employee like this, it might spoil the company reputation among the candidates, what if an employee tells to 10 people about their behaviour!! Might b managment probe but everyone points HR Dept only.

Hi All,
Ravi, seems like you have a very bad experience with HRs, but donot generalise all the HRs, I still have good rapport with the employees who quit, and are willing to join us back. Incase if things get delayed there is every chance of higher management's influence on this...HR is just a puppet not necessarily have all authorities..
