Dear All,
After going through a couple of topics on this forum, I felt like writing this to all of you. There are many threads on this forum that die even before they are posted. The sole purpose of this forum is to share knowledge, but some of the great topics don't even make it to the discussions due to a lack of participation. I request all of you to share your comments on every post you read. At least that way, we might be able to share our views on the post and learn from each other. I am not saying this to make any post popular but somewhere, everyone in this forum posts a thread to get feedback, be it a suggestion, opinion, or just a comment. Let's get our acts together and make this forum a success by sharing more.
Regards, Arun.

You are right, Arun. Even I have noticed that there are certain threads which are unnoticeable. Not only that, people don't even reply to that particular post. This should not be done. There should be some reply to those postings.

Hi, Arun.
I agree with you absolutely. Another big concern is that the same attachments and articles are posted as new threads by different people, causing duplication and triplication. I guess this is the greatest paradox! If we only participate and share, we will come to know about those posts and threads, and we can also avoid such duplication.
Thanks a lot for bringing it to the notice of all members.

Dear Arun and all Citehrians who have replied,
A humble request to let us peruse maximum, if not all, posts. I still cannot get over the ongoing discussion on the dressing style of a certain lady employee – she has been torn apart, but we seem to have overlooked the broader aspects of the valuable contributions made by some excellent contributors.

Dear All,
Thank you for the replies. What really matters is posting comments on every post that we read. We might be able to give our views, suggestions, or maybe provide a positive stroke to the members who have taken the time to post their issues on the forum. I believe you all agree to this. I need help from all of you on one of my posts regarding citehr fighting for a social cause. Please do reply to that. I am sure it will help citehr create a reason for itself for the upliftment of the society we live in.

Bah! So people should reply even if they dont have anything informative to share, just for the heck of it, for a moral boost? I dont think so.

Hi Arun,
After reading your Humble Request, I thought I also should say something regarding the participation. You are right! There are so many posts that, though interesting and informative, are not discussed in the forum! Why? Is it because they are not SENSATIONAL? There are so many posts that ask for suggestions, views, and solutions but receive no feedback. Why is there a shortfall of knowledge, experience, or willingness to share? Definitely not...members are not really interested. If this is wrong, I stand corrected.
The members should also think before they put something on the site. Just for the sake of posting, one should not put something! I saw while going through the postings today - there is one member putting up a reply to a post as "why I am not able to open the attachment?" There is a member who has thanked this post/member!
Dear Friends, this forum is for sharing, learning, and correcting! Siddharth is doing a wonderful job in redesigning the site so beautifully, and I always feel like being on the site 24 hours. Let us use this forum intelligently, effectively, and creatively.

True, I read somewhere "to make a topic interesting, please inject a sensual dose into that." It's proving right here, in an HR Forum!!!
This is turning out to be on lines of those infamous TV news channels that claim they will revolutionize society and air 12 hours of sensual and crime-related programs. Members, better concentrate on the issues that improve all of us to reach a better mental state to handle people in our organizations and make them productive.

Hi,
I am new to this site and have a few suggestions. As mentioned rightly, let's make this site more interesting and create a common platform for discussions, clearing doubts, and career-related topics. I find many users treating it as a source of entertainment by uploading irrelevant content. If you are interested, please send such content via junk mail to everyone instead of creating disturbance here.
Thank you.

Hi Arun,
Thanks for the initiative you have taken. Whatever everyone is saying is 100 percent correct. There are so many freshers like me who need suggestions on how to fine-tune our careers, but I did not find even a single reply for two days. Even though I am a fresher, I give suggestions to many people who are in need of it based on what I have learned. Everyone needs motivation. I am updating my knowledge by going through each and every article; it's of great use with numerous suggestions for a single problem. Let's make this forum grow, update our knowledge, and share the same.

Hi all,
I appreciate the concerns of all. But, in an open forum like this, you are bound to get postings of mixed nature. Some restrict their postings to specific subjects. Some give comments on all. Some continue for months. Some perish in days.
For example, Arun wants to create a Social Cause. Only those who are interested will participate. You obviously cannot expect everyone to join here as every member in some form or the other would be contributing to some social cause. Obviously, you cannot contribute everywhere. So, you get responses which will be limited.
It is easier to comment on sensational issues. On the Bell curve or on BSC or on the Selection Process or on Psychometric Testing, you will not find many participants. Dress, pregnancy, etc., are sensational and will attract attention in any normal society. Nothing is silly as some pointed out.

Thank you, Arun, for your initiative. It is indeed sharing responses that leads to learning from people. Also, I think it is a little rude to just skim over things that don't impact us directly for what we can get from them.
As HR professionals, surely we need to learn how to get over ourselves and "what we can get from situations" and be available for what is happening.

Dear Arun,
I too have come across such a trend. I back you. All of us must keep in mind when reading a post that the originator has given his valuable time for the same. Let's value each other's efforts.

Hi Arun,
It's fine that every thread (if it is really raising a good question and you feel you can contribute to it) should be replied to. But adding a number of compliments is rather useless; instead, only one or two replies are sufficient in a complimentary context. It is quite regretful if any valuable queries are ignored in this competent HR forum. We must keep this in mind. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue.

My Dear Arun ji,
I appreciate your suggestion/request. It would be very helpful to all of us if we share our views mutually with each other and find solutions together.
Thank you very much once again.

Dear Arun,
Very true, some of the topics are untouched and not given due importance. I would request all the members to please avoid these things and try to share knowledge and help the group members.

Hi,
I do agree with the suggestion. All the members are related to the same career profile. Almost all the members are thinking in the same HR-related dimension; maybe their personal thoughts are different. Still, those going through the site are learning enough. I am a relatively new member of Cite HR. I read every message posted here but could not put my view on each post because my experience is less, and I am not aware of practical experiences. After reading lots of messages here, I am able to express my views.
Thanks for the nice initiation.

Ankita

Thank you for your responses. Has my initiative changed the way we use CiteHR? Yes, I do agree that we might not be able to comment on each and every post. However, the posts on CiteHR are nothing but information. In case we are posting information on CiteHR that is copied or referred from another source, we can simply include a reference link that would help people access the complete information.
What is your take on this?

What I think is, the reason why there are many views and fewer replies is that quite often many of the keywords get picked up on all these searches that we do on Google. People only view it in search of a few solutions. It is a good thing that quite a lot of people from the HR community are replying to the different posts. But many times, a few posts go unnoticed, so it might just be bad luck.
Users like Octavius and Sivasankaran are big-time contributors and should be thanked for all the help they are doing. I am just a student, so many times I do not reply, sensing that I might not be able to do complete justice to the situation at hand. But I do view quite a few posts on a daily basis.
Anyways, it is a good thing that people should realize that contributing will only help whatever the views. Great going, Team HR! Cheers!
