HRM CAREER
AS a HRM , merely sticking around recruitment will not help
your career.
Subject to your aptitude , there are a number of areas
you need to spread out . Initially you need to stay close
to your core strength.
1. You can start with
-recruitment
-selection
-online applicant apprisal.
-psychological tests [ you can buy these softwares ]
2. Then you can look at
-expert in compensation / salary development and
incentives development.
3. Now you can look at
-training [ do a diploma training ]
-management development [ diploma in management development]
4. specialising in industrial relations
You can a part time law degree in industrial relations.
5. specialising in knowledge management/ intellectual property.
You can do a diploma.
SO THE SKY IS THE LIMIT.

Hi Ashish,

Great..nothing like being your won boss and believe me it’s the best learning experience …I frankly feel we all HR professionals at some point of time should think or try to be their own boss…as they reveal your strong points & weaknesses which otherwise remains hidden while working…above all its is the best renewal exercise both personally & professionally as well.

End to end recruitment:-

Understanding of job profiles

Proactive head hunting – I have mentioned about this in detail in some postings…

Networking – very very important in today’s scenario…

HR – generalist

Need to have an exposure to all facets of HR like C&B, OD, Change Management et all..here its very essential to have hands-on experience before you are ready for this role. Perhaps what you can do is take small assignments like HR audit for small companies or ask your HR friends to assist you on these matters…also active reading of the posting in this citehr.com can prepare you well…

Good Luck!!
