Dear Cite Members,

I am planning to announce a quarterly punctuality reward in our organization. Kindly suggest a title for the winner. Also, should the punctuality reward be monthly or quarterly?

Hi Bhavna,

I am also planning to announce this kind of reward in my organization. I think that it should be on a quarterly basis, and you can give the title as Mr. or Ms. Punctual. If you find anything else, please let me know.

Hi Vinov, Bhavna, and Sushma,

I can also suggest the title to be Mr/Mrs Punctual of the week/month. In one office, they have a Lucky Draw and Unlucky Draw every week. Every time an employee is on or before time, their names are dropped in the lucky draw box, and each time someone is late, their name goes in the unlucky draw box. Every Friday, they pick a lucky draw, and the person wins a cash prize of Rs 1,000. This system can be implemented quarterly, monthly, etc., with prizes set up accordingly.

For a title suggestion - Mr/Mrs "Valuing Money," i.e., valuing time, as one says, time is money. :)

Hi,

The title can be "Clocky" (same for male or female). Staff are always expected to come on time. In my opinion, three months is too long, and it will lose its charm if it is stretched. Instead, you can plan it on a weekly basis. You can give them a green card for coming on time for a week.

You can exchange gifts for a specific number of green cards. Make a gift budget for one year.

Hi all,

I may sound pessimistic, but don't attribute my age to this! Here are a few questions before you start:

Punctuality in what?
1. Entering the office?
2. Taking his or her seat?
3. In attending meetings?
4. In completing meetings?
5. In submitting reports?
6. In completing the job?
7. In keeping up with appointments?
8. In starting interviews?
9. In finishing interviews?
10. In leaving the workplace after work hours.
11. In releasing annual increments.

Well, sorry if I have deviated. If you are designing a scheme only for attendance purposes, it will be short-lived. Have a debate and create an exhaustive list. From the list, select a few and announce a comprehensive scheme. Your Mr. or Ms. Punctual should not only have reached the office on time but also completed tasks on time, attended meetings promptly, etc.

Best wishes for the scheme.

Hi,

I agree with Mr. Siva's comments that the punctuality policy should include all 11 things that would be effective. Not only should it include attendance and coming on time, but if you include all the 11 things listed, it will help increase productivity and assist employees in achieving their tasks.

Dear,

I suggest a title for the winner should be "Mister-Punctual" for a male and "Miss-Punctual" for a female. This topic is really interesting, and I don't think I am going to make the final decision alone. I also request my friends to provide their valuable suggestions on this matter.

This topic is very interesting because it can also be associated with Yearly Performance Appraisal and Balanced Scorecard as per the HR practices adopted in an organization.

Regarding the reward policy, you may use a certificate of recognition or appreciation as a reward. Alternatively, you may even include the criteria for punctuality as part of another reward system, for instance, the employee of the month. This is to also help the company maintain a cordial flow of money. Incentives can be in any form aside from money.
