Hi, one of the companies created a PF account and associated it with my UAN without me joining the company. I received an offer from XXX company, but I didn't join because I got a better offer. I informed the HR about this, and even then, a PF account was created. When I informed her of this issue, the HR marked the exit date the same as my joining date and told me that the service history cannot be removed from EPFO. Please let me know if this will create any problems in BGV in the future.

It will not cause any problem in the future because it is only a technical error committed by a company. However, I cannot comment on how the background verification agency will report this. They can report it as their finding that you had joined an organization and immediately on the same day you left the company, and therefore, you lack consistency. They write such things because they are hired to do so. Nobody can stop them from writing such negative comments which will have a negative impact on the careers of employees.

Hi, how can they create a PF account without the PF Form 11 and other documents? Did you inform them via mail a couple of days, like a week or 2-3 days before joining, and reject the offer by mail? Did you sign the PF form before joining and give it to them? Also, may I know the name of the company if you are willing to disclose it?

Hi, A similar situation occurred to me where the date of joining was mistakenly recorded as the date of exit. HR explained that this error was due to internal miscommunication. When I inquired about a solution, I was advised to send an email stating that I never actually joined the company, to which they promptly acknowledged. Is it advisable to obtain email confirmation regarding my non-employment with the organization?

To address the situation where your PF account was created without joining the company, it is crucial to take proactive steps to prevent any future issues in background verification (BGV). Here's a practical approach:

    1. Request Confirmation Email: It is advisable to obtain an email confirmation from the HR stating that you never actually joined the company. This email will serve as documented proof of the miscommunication regarding your employment status.

    2. Clarify Service History: Since the HR marked your exit date as the same as your joining date, causing confusion in your service history, ensure that the email confirmation explicitly mentions the correct details of your non-employment with the organization. This clarification can help in resolving any discrepancies during BGV.

    3. Contact EPFO if Necessary: If the issue persists or affects your PF account, consider reaching out to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) for assistance. They can provide guidance on correcting any inaccuracies in your PF account related to this incident.

    4. Retain Documentation: Keep a copy of the email confirmation and any additional communication regarding this matter for your records. Having documented evidence can be beneficial in case you need to address any future challenges arising from this situation.

Taking these steps can help you mitigate any potential BGV issues stemming from the creation of your PF account without actual employment with the company.
