Hiring After Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS)

VRS being voluntary and not a mandated discharge, you can hire people after VRS. However, if it was a mass retrenchment, you cannot recruit new persons without considering those who were retrenched.

In the case of voluntary retirement, which is again excluded from retrenchment under the Industrial Disputes Act, the employer can proceed with hiring a new candidate without considering those who left the company of their own will.
