Termination Without Notice

HR verbally communicated that I should not come to the office from tomorrow onwards. Despite facing numerous issues, we joined the company. One of my friends recorded his conversation. When I wrote an email requesting two months' notice pay, as I was being terminated without reason, the company director denied the termination. He accused me of trying to claim two months' salary without working. He insisted that if I do not continue to report to the office and either write an apology or prove my allegations, I would face legal action. I was completely shocked, especially due to my pregnancy.

Issues Faced with the Company

Firstly, they are very unprofessional. Below are the issues I faced:

- We received our appointment letters at least 1 month and 15 days late, and not even from the company we were interviewed for.
- We were asked to backdate our appointment to one and a half months before our actual joining.
- We were promised a company vehicle for travel, which turned out to be a false promise.

Pregnancy and Employment Challenges

As soon as my pregnancy was confirmed by a doctor, I was told I would be continued only for two months and forced to work on half salary. I never said I wouldn't work due to my pregnancy, but they made it an issue. In the current scenario, finding a new job with my medical condition is not possible. To avoid granting maternity leave, they suddenly terminated me. I relocated and spent my savings trusting the company, and now, being terminated without notice is very depressing. Surviving without a regular income is tough with my medical condition.

I did not demand maternity benefits, but the company harassed me for being pregnant, ultimately taking away my job and income when I needed it most. Without income, surviving until I find another job is impossible. I requested at least two months' salary and February's salary to cover minimum expenses and possibly relocate back to my city.

Legal Concerns and Mental Stress

I have filed a complaint with the labor office, but I am afraid of the legal action threatened by the company. Continuing to work with them is challenging due to the circumstances they created and past actions. My current condition does not allow for mental stress, as it could affect my baby. I have reported to the office and communicated via email, stating I will submit my evidence to the legal authorities. I am really afraid and feel mentally harassed by them.

Dear member,

I recommend you approach the Labour Officer under whose jurisdiction your company falls. Please explain to him/her about the termination. You do not need to explain the entire story from your appointment. Only provide details if they express interest.

Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
