The minimum wages need to be paid based on the state in which the services are rendered. If a company is based in Bangalore and its employees are serving clients in different states, then which state's minimum wages would be applicable? So, is the place of disbursement of wages or where the payroll is processed (Bangalore) not material in deciding the quantum of minimum wages? Please clarify. Experts.

Any establishment will have to be registered under the state's labor laws, quoting the number of employees engaged. Therefore, the minimum wage of the registered state only is applicable where the provident fund gets remitted. Processing of payrolls in a different state doesn't count for this purpose.
