Dear team,
My name is Prachi. I was terminated from my last organization, XXX Pvt Ltd, due to ZTP. They provided me with a spot exit and also offered another department for me to continue with the same organization. However, I declined the offer and completed the exit formalities.
During that time, I inquired with HR and my manager about my salary. They informed me to come on the 18th of September to collect my salary cheque. When I arrived on the 18th of September, HR informed me that my salary status is non-payable from the operations end, and thus, they were unable to issue my salary cheque.
Now, my manager is advising me to coordinate with HR. However, HR mentioned that they will release the salary after confirmation from operations, which they have denied.
I am unsure of what steps to take next. Should I file a police complaint? Can you please provide information on relevant acts related to this issue? I would appreciate your assistance.
Thank you.

In the first paragraph, you have written that you were terminated because of "ZTP." What is ZTP? You are eligible to receive your salary until your last working day (LWD). What was your LWD? At this stage, there is no need to make a police complaint. Write a letter to the MD of your company to request the release of your salary. Send the letter by registered post/AD. Keep the receipt from the post office safe and secure along with the file copy of your letter to the MD.
Wait for some time, and if nothing happens, then make a formal complaint to the Labour Officer (LO) of your area under whose jurisdiction your company falls. You are eligible to approach the LO provided you do not work in a supervisory capacity. What was your designation? How many persons reported to you? Please note that the LO is different from a labor lawyer. The former is a government-appointed authority, whereas the latter is an individual professional who works in a personal capacity. When you approach the LO, carry with you evidence of your employment like an appointment letter, the last payslip, etc. Please speak in the local language at the labor office.
Thanks,
