Hi,

Nowadays, almost all MNCs work for 5 days a week, even banks have changed their working days. By having a five-day workweek, you can save on administrative expenses such as electricity and stationery. As mentioned earlier, if other companies and banks have holidays, there won't be much work for the sales and accounting departments on those days. In production and manufacturing companies where work is done in shifts, a 6-day workweek may be ideal.

Most importantly, after two days off, employees will return to work with full energy for the remaining days.

Thank you.

The thought has crossed your mind, considering some reasons that led you to contemplate a 5-day work week instead of a 6-day one. In the forum, you will encounter various reasons and opinions, some of which may or may not be influencing you or your employees. Therefore, it is advisable to consider the employees' viewpoints and seek the directors' approval on the matter.

If you present any forum members' reasons to your directors, they may pose several questions that you cannot immediately answer. Hence, it is recommended to consult with the employees first and then proceed based on their rationale.

There are a few experiences I want to share:

1) You have to assure management that there is no loss of productivity, sales, or business by reducing the working hours.

2) There should be no increase in administrative expenses. In fact, you should be able to show some reduction in expenses on account of lighting, transport, and office phones.

3) Assure management that even when people are off on Saturdays, they will be in touch in relation to business, and no work will stop.
