I am currently working with another Indian company and I am deputed to Sydney, Australia. The company is conducting a background verification, and they require an experience letter from my previous company, i.e., IBM India. I have provided them with the offer letter and the relieving letter, but they are insisting on an experience letter. I do not recall receiving these letters, or I may not have them with me currently. Could anyone on this forum please explain the process to obtain this letter? I was employed in India from August 2000 to October 2004. I do not remember any friends or colleagues from that period.

You do not need any friends or colleagues. Just write and contact the concerned HR department of your IBM office/location where you were posted. If required, send them scanned copies of your documents. Legally, they are bound to issue you an experience letter if requested, provided you gave proper resignation, served the proper notice period, and did a proper handover.

Best wishes!
