Dear Sir, I belong to an Engineering Manufacturing company. I am looking to establish an HR department independently there. We have 60 employees, including contract labor. Their average age group is 30 years.

Currently, I am facing a problem with salary revisions. The salary revision process is conducted by the top management with the input of HODs. However, I have noticed that each HOD has a different concept when it comes to the revision criteria.

We have a standard form with various points such as initiative, output, punctuality, etc., which are filled out by all HODs. I am interested in finding a way to train all HODs to follow a common revision process for the entire plant.

Best regards, Parimal

It is up to the top management to decide on the fixing of increments for everyone, including contract laborers. However, concerning workers, we need to ensure that the minimum wages are in line with the Minimum Wages Act applicable to your region. This is crucial.

If there are still any issues, you can arrange a meeting with all HODs along with top management officials to address and resolve the matter.
