Employee Engagement: Importance, Activities, and Impact on Organizational Development - CiteHR

I am doing an internship in an MNC company that deals with financial security services. As I have gone through their HRD, I have observed that they are not into Employee Engagement Activities (EEA).

Importance of Employee Engagement Activities

In today's scenario, EEA is very important in any industry. Retaining talented people is what a company has to focus on more, and I feel this is crucial. I was thinking I should start with some activities that can enhance learning, team building, and bring more positivity to the workplace.

I want viewpoints from all of you. Is it right what I'm thinking? If so, what activities can be incorporated as EEA?

Understanding Employee Engagement

Employee engagement is essentially defined as the emotional connection that employees feel towards their organization, fostering a positive environment, commitment, and motivation in organizational development. Human Resources describe it as an emotional bond that encourages employees to exert effort in their work.

Importance of Employee Engagement Activities

Employee Engagement (EE) activities are crucial for both small and large companies as they foster a sense of commitment and drive high productivity and workforce efficiency. Global research, including studies by companies like Hay Group and Coca-Cola, has shown that organizations with strong EE initiatives achieve better financial performance compared to those that do not prioritize these activities.

Designing Strategic Engagement Programs

To create an effective engagement program, align it with company standards. This can include Employee Awards and Recognition, picnics and gatherings, company dinners or concert arrangements, and offering relaxing days off. These activities contribute to a more engaged and motivated workforce.

Promoting Employee Welfare

Companies can enhance employee welfare by implementing and managing internal programs effectively. Keeping employees informed and active through newsletters and postings (via email or pinboards) is also beneficial. It is crucial for companies to recognize that employees work hard for the organization's success.

May I call it due recognition and/or an employee right?
