I wish to add a few more points to my previous reply. You must be very careful in drafting the complaint or intimation about the incident. Also, you have not mentioned whether the incident was an accident or a natural death (heart attack or other, etc.). Whatever the reason may be, you are advised to be very careful before you intimate the police. Otherwise, you can be cornered. Always keep the top management in the loop.

Dear Mindeep, the death may be accidental or natural if it's within the factory premises. Follow the steps below:

1. Inform your superiors and top management authorities.
2. Rush the individual to the hospital.
3. File a First Information Report (FIR) with your local police station.
4. Send an accident intimation in the prescribed format to the factory inspector.
5. Notify the insurance company if your company has any policies related to workers' compensation and accident benefits with any insurance provider.

The actual process starts after this, which can be critical and a headache for HR. I have just provided you with the starting points of what you need to do after such an incident.

Regards, Arun J.
