Dear all, I am Vimal. Now, I have resigned from my job and submitted PF closing forms as I had 5.5 years of service. I have attached an attested copy of the bank passbook. Someone told me that I will also need to submit a cancelled cheque for claiming PF. Is a cancelled cheque necessary for claiming PF? If so, what should I do?
Thank you.

The canceled cheque is mandatory for PF claims because if somebody doesn’t have it, they may not receive their claim. For example, if a cheque leaf is not required, someone could easily claim your benefits without proper authorization. Therefore, this process ensures the secure transaction of your claim.

The cancelled cheque is proof to show the account where you want your money credited. It serves as evidence that it is your own account. Therefore, please present the cancelled cheque leaf from the bank where you want your PF Money to be credited, along with the PF Closing form.
