Hello Seniors, I have always had this doubt about how performance management is actually done in a company. I have come across a lot of people who talk about aligning organizational goals to individuals' goals; however, they don't mention how. Also, it is said that managers provide the ratings to their employees, and based on that, employees get a pay raise. If this is true, then where does HR come into the picture when performance appraisal is done?

I would be really obliged if you all can help me by throwing a few examples.

Thanks :)

Hi, what you said is true; it happens the same way. Aligning organizational goals to department and individual goals cascades down the line. When it comes to the role of HR, we facilitate and help the organization in this alignment process. We assist the managers in creating goal documents and in conducting performance reviews.
